Late last month, Paolo Contis and LJ Reyes made the news after it was observed that the actor unfollowed his partner on Instagram and removed her photos.
Reyes later confirmed the split when she was on Boy Abunda’s YouTube channel called The Boy Abunda Talk Channel.
In the interview, she said, “As much as I really want a complete family, ‘yung mga nangyari po ‘di ko na kakayanin na maging malapit siya sa mga anak ko. Ganun kasakit ‘yung nangyari. Ganun kahirap. Hindi ko lang masabi on air kung ano ‘yung mga ‘yun. Pero ‘di po kakayanin ng pusong nanay ko na ibalik siya sa buhay ng mga bata.”
Now, Contis has spoken up on Instagram. He posted two photos of a black background with his side of the story in the caption.
In the first one, he said, “After lumabas ang interview ni LJ, katakot takot na pang aalipusta at pambabatikos ang natanggap ko. I can’t say I don’t deserve it kaya tinatanggap ko lang ito. I understand all your frustrations. Gusto ko sana manahimik kaya lang marami nang mga nadadamay na hindi dapat kaya mas mabuti sigurong sagutin ko ang ilan sa mga ito…”
One of the points raised was about a third party and he said, “Aaminin ko, naging marupok at gago ako sa ilang taon naming pagsasama. I’m not proud of it. For that, I’m sincerely sorry. I’m truly ashamed of my actions.”
Contis also spoke up about Yen Santos, who was linked to him after the two were spotted in Baguio together. Of Santos, the actor said, “She was never the reason of our break up. I was. Kung matagal na kaming hindi okay ni LJ, it was mainly because of me. Masyado niyo siyang diniin sa issue na to. Pati pag promote namin ng movie nabahiran na ng kung anu ano.”
He added, “When LJ left for the States with the kids, I went to Baguio for 3 days dahil ayaw ko sa Manila at gusto kong makapag isip isip. Naging insensitive ako about the possible effects nung issue and I invited Yen for a day para may makausap since malapit lang siya sa North din. She went there as a friend. Hindi ko naisip na madadamay siya ng ganito. I’m sorry for this.”

Contis and Reyes were together since 2015. They have one daughter named Summer, and they also cared for Aki, Reyes’s son with Paulo Avelino.
