Despite constantly denying that there’s something special between them, the controversial pair Paolo Contis and Yen Santos have just been spotted together at the airport on their way to Boracay for the New Year weekend.
A netizen residing in Aklan took photos of the two and promptly posted them on Facebook which she had captioned, “Tara Boracay as a friend. (Let’s go to Boracay as friends.)” It was a reference to what Paolo said in his defense when he was seen in Baguio with Yen at the time when his former partner LJ Reyes revealed their breakup in an emotional interview with Boy Abunda.
“[Yen] was never the reason [for] our break up,” Paolo had written in an apology post. “When LJ left for the States with the kids, I went to Baguio for 3 days dahil ayaw ko sa Manila at gusto kong makapag isip isip. Naging insensitive ako about the possible effects nung issue and I invited Yen for a day para may makausap since malapit lang siya sa North din. She went there as a friend. Hindi ko naisip na madadamay siya ng ganito. I’m sorry for this.”
[Translation: “Yen was never the reason for our breakup. When LJ left for the States with the kids, I went to Baguio for three days because I didn’t want to stay in Manila and I needed to think. I was insensitive to the possible effects of the issue and I invited Yen for a day so I could have someone to talk to and since she also lived nearby in the North. She went there as a friend. I didn’t realize that she would be dragged into the issue this way. I’m sorry for this.”]
Still, Paolo and Yen, who were costars in the Netflix movie “A Faraway Land,” were seen a couple more times hanging out together and even celebrated Yen’s birthday together with a seemingly romantic dinner at the beach.
It’s still unknown what the real score is between them.
