Apparently, it had no impact in his music career. “I feel like nagkakaroon pa rin ako ng shows naman,” he recalled. “It’s the same, parang walang nagbago.”

Nevertheless, the revelation allegedly capped his acting career. He said, “nagkaroon na ng limitation ‘yung binibigay na offers or mas stereotyped ‘yung roles na puwedeng ibigay sa akin.” Despite this, he stated that he remains open to taking on roles he used to play in the past. “Gusto ko pa ring gawin na like normal na role or ‘yung straight na role. After noong nag-book ako, marami ring nag-offer sa akin na movies na gagawin, puro BL [boys’ love]; pero ang Viva, hindi sila nag-agree kasi depende rin sa content, sa material,” he explained.

Ultimately, Bautista thinks that his career in general did not fade. “May mga changes,” he added, like his offers in films and how anxious he is sometimes if people will come to watch his concerts. Yet, the artist was overwhelmed by the support he received, even from those he did not expect.

Still, there were a few who became aloof. He told Abunda, “Mayroon akong kaunting friends na parang naging distant.” The host confirmed, “Because they could not take your revelation about your sexuality?” “Yeah,” he responded. “Meron naman sa showbiz na naging distant dahil feeling nila, I was just doing it for publicity.” Nonetheless, he also mentioned that he did not write the book for business.
