Mara Soriano, a Filipina from Canada, was reunited with a special teddy bear after it was stolen from her.
The teddy bear was special to Soriano since it contained a voice recording of her late mother. On Twitter, she tweeted about how it was stolen from her while she was moving into a new apartment in Vancouver.
UPDATE: ACTUAL FOOTAGE OF THE THEFT! When I dropped the bag, my fiance was still in the alley, not inside, so it would have been right beside the uHaul cabin. This happened just after he pulled into the loading bay. pic.twitter.com/6eoGzVVr2t

She asked for help online to help her find the teddy bear. The story was picked up by CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), and Deadpool star Ryan Renolds retweeted it, offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who could return it to Soriano
Renolds wrote, “$5,000 to anyone who returns this bear to Mara. Zero questions asked. I think we all need this bear to come home.”

With this, Soriano recently tweeted that she finally got the teddy bear back, free from scratches, and the voice box still working. According to one of her tweets, two kind samaritans returned the teddy bear to her in a safe space.
NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH ON HER! Two kind samaritans returned her to us in a safe space, voice is there, just no glasses!! https://t.co/Y1gZpiCP4j

She also thanked Renolds for helping her get the bear back. She tweeted, “THANK YOU RYAN! This wouldn’t have been possible without your signal boost!”
In happier news… thank you everyone who searched high and low. To the person who took the bear, thanks for keeping it safe. Vancouver is awesome. #FoundMarasBear https://t.co/X7FlyiR89P
