Do you even remember a time when food delivery hotlines didn’t exist? Food delivery hotlines have made life so much easier, especially for those of us who are too busy to breathe, let alone cook for themselves.
Maris Mayol Tian had just ordered her breakfast one morning when her 92-year-old neighbor saw her with the delivery guy.
“When Lola saw him handing me my food at our gate, she called him over and asked him what he does,” Maris shares. “When he told her that he delivers food that she would want to order, she proceeds by enumerating her order.”
Maris says she honestly thought that the delivery guy would just ignore her, laugh and be on his way; but he actually took out his own cellphone, dialed a number, and ordered for her!”
We spoke to the delivery guy, 29-year-old Elpegie Sicor, who has only been delivering food for three months now, and he says that he just couldn’t resist ordering food for Lola when she asked him about his job. “Gustong gusto ni Lola kumain nung araw na yun kaso hindi niya alam kung paano magorder kaya ako na lang ang tumawag para makaorder siya. [She really wanted to eat that day, but she didn’t know how to order, so I just decided to call so that she could order some food],” he shares.
