Firebolt is a start-up venture by a certified bibliophile: 23-year-old Kenneth Garon. He shares with WhenInManila.com that he came up with the idea for his themed scented candles when he couldn’t find literature-inspired candles in the Philippines. So, he studied candle-making during the community lockdown. In September, he officially launched Firebolt, named after Harry Potter’s broomstick.

Firebolt has so far released two collections: Autumn and Winter. Aside from featuring locally-made scented candles inspired by the greatest names in literature, collections are also released according to seasons.

The Autumn collection features “Wordsworth” which has notes of sandalwood, vanilla, and cinnamon; and “Dickinson” which has notes of lavender, cedar, and bamboo.

For the Winter collection, you can enjoy the scented candles of “Dickens” made with notes of pine, rosemary, and peppermint; and of “Alcott” made with notes of pine, cinnamon, and almond. I’m sure that just thinking about these scents can make you feel the coziness of specially-made candles for the cold weather.
To complete the tranquil experience brought to you by these candles, they all come with a curated Spotify playlist that exactly matches its scent. Side note: I instantly squealed when I heard the first song on my candle’s playlist because it was PERFECT.
