Over 17 years deep in the game, February Bank has transformed a recreational sport into a valuable occupation. Growing up in the competitive slipstream of California has allowed this passionate Filipino to continually up the ante. Circumnavigating genres, his magnetic package as an entertainer, vocalist and storyteller draws from a rich variety of influences to create a one-of-kind experience.

At the cross-section of his various sounds comes a character somewhat reminiscent of Andre 3000 or Kendrick Lamar in musical charisma, whilst the smooth switch-ups between singing and rapping call to mind a young Mos Def. Expanding on his craft has led to opportunities for mentoring artists around the globe, which has enabled him to give back to the creative community.

REIKA çµ¢, the artist responsible for the visuals of February Bank’s latest single, “bank,” said this about the track:

“Creating the visuals for “bank” was a ride. The track is extremely lyrical yet straightforward, with no hooks and chorus. Listening to it felt like a never-ending car ride with no speed bumps. The challenge then was to visualize the urgency of the song while telling a story.”

“The alien subject symbolizes a renewed being traversing Earth heads on. The usage of intense backgrounds, lighting effects, and bold color combinations, give off an uneasy and jittery feel to match the drum patterns of the track as well as February Bank’s dynamic flow. Mixed media was used to showcase different art styles and to enforce an “experimental” theme all throughout. Ultimately, the video aims to supplement the message of the track while also bringing a new perspective for viewers.”

February Bank currently resides in the Philippines where he has rooted himself in a country where his parents were born as he continues to make music from the heart surrounded by the energy of the Motherland.

His first album “baduy” is set to release this August 7.
