When in Manila Wuhan, China, Smart Gilas Pilipinas lost 3rd place to team South Korea at the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship by only two points. Final score is 70-68 in favor of Korea.
Last September 25, Team Pilipinas came short of winning the bronze medal to Korea. This was a big loss for the team since they have also lost their chance to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics. Only medal winners from the FIBA Asia 2011 will advance and they are China, Jordan and Korea.
