Chelsea Handler’s appreciation post for her boyfriend Jo Koy is making us say sana all.
On Facebook and Instagram, she began, “This is an appreciation post for the man who turns on my rain machine every night, even though you hate my choice of rain (thunderstorm) and even though I’m only putting it on to drown out your CPAP machine. (Sleep apnea).”
Handler continued, “Thanks for carrying around an extra lip balm for me because you know I will lose mine and for never letting me carry my own purse, or really anything for that matter. Thanks for loving my dogs the way you do and for always making sure I double bolt my lock in every hotel room.”
The comedian called him her best boyfriend, saying, “never thought I even wanted someone to look after me this way, but I do.”
Handler encouraged her followers to share if they have someone who does sweet things for them, saying, “Let’s inspire the people who haven’t found their person yet, that real love is coming your way and it’s out there in all sorts of shapes, colors and sizes.”
She ended her post by saying “Mahal kita, @jokoy. You saved me.”
Handler and Koy confirmed their relationship in September of last year with a photo of them kissing, but rumors have been spreading much earlier.
Earlier that month, Handler shared a cryptic post on Instagram, saying, “Just sitting here in Mallorca thinking about how grateful I am to have so many people that I love in my life, to live the life I do and to be going on tour doing what I love. And that I’m finally in love, with the best kind of guy there is. There is hope for everyone! That kind of stuff.”
The two have known each other for nearly 20 years. Koy was a frequent guest of Handler’s show, Chelsea Lately. In an episode of her podcast Dear Chelsea, the comedian said that she probably had feelings for Koy at the time but that she suppressed it.
