Well-known British personality Caroline Flack has passed away at the age of 40. The ex-host of reality dating show Love Island was found dead in her home in London last Saturday.
A family spokesperson verified the news, saying: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th [of] February. We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.
”
According to the Associated Press, a family lawyer confirmed that Flack’s death was due to suicide.

Flack was the long-time host of Love Island, starting from its launch in 2015 until she was asked to step down following charges of assault in 2019. The charges were denied and the trial was set to begin in March.
The network which broadcasts the show, ITV, released a statement following news of her death.
“Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news. Caroline was a much-loved member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends,” they shared on Twitter.
Word of Flack’s death sparked several debates online on the ethics of reality television. With 2 former Love Island contestants, Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis, having died by suicide in previous years there were discussions of a trend existing.
Flack led a colorful life, having been host to a number of popular Saturday morning children’s television shows. She won the BBC show “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2014 and made her West End debut in 2018 as Chicago’s Roxie Hart.
