An artwork depicting a girl firing a catapult appeared on the side of a house in Bristol a few nights ago. Famous graffiti artist Banksy has confirmed the piece as his by posting a photo of it on his Instagram page.
The artwork shows a stencil of a girl as she shoots red flowers from her catapult. The flowers were designed by spray-painting a bunch of ivy red.
Today in Barton Hill, we woke up with this remarkable mural art painted on one of the houses of the area.
We hope it’s Banksy’s work.
Come and have a look yourself. Whoever painted, it’s worth admiring their creativity.

(Should We Consider Graffiti As ‘Art’ or ‘Vandalism’?)
Even before the artwork was confirmed to be Banksy’s, the piece had gained a lot of traction. People from all over the area went to catch a glimpse of the graffiti. Its popularity only mounted when Banksy published a photo of it midnight on Valentine’s Day.
Now, the property’s homeowners are deeply concerned with preserving the work. With the possibility of an incoming storm and vandals in the neighborhood, their priority is to protect the piece.

According to Ms. Woodruff, the property owner, some flowers which were part of the work have already been stolen while the plastic screen covering it was vandalized. They are getting in touch with the International Fine Art Conservation Studios (IFACS) in Bristol for advice.
