Ryan Reynolds Leaked the ‘Full Movie’ of ‘Detective Pikachu’

It’s not much of a surprise when much-awaited movies and television shows end up getting leaked online, much to the bane of actors, producers, and fans everywhere. And it seems that even Detective Pikachu wasn’t spared from the dreaded pirates… or so we all thought.

The “leaked” movie started to spread after Ryan Reynolds “found” an anonymous account that had seemingly uploaded a pirated copy of the entire film online, then shared it to his nearly 14 million followers.

Have you seen the ‘leak’ yet? Watch it here:

As you can see, it turns out it was not the Detective Pikachu movie we were expecting.

The first minute was successfully made to look like an illegal rip of the film, complete with the Warner Bros. titles and the first clip of Justice Smith walking down the street. And what follows after that? One hundred and one glorious minutes of Pikachu dancing to 80s workout music.

Apparently, this was all an elaborate troll setup by Warner Bros. themselves with the help of Ryan Reynolds. If you can’t beat the pirates, might as well do it yourself, right?

Detective Pikachu is now showing in theaters nationwide.

How many minutes can you stand watching Pikachu dancing? (We watched the whole thing!)
