Twelve valiant and hardworking frontliners have been chosen as winners of Resorts World Manila’s (RWM) Who’s Your Frontliner Hero photo contest that was launched during the National Frontliners Month in June. The public was encouraged to shout out their appreciation for their frontliner family and friends for the chance to win them the break they deserve.
The twelve winners will each receive a 3D/2N staycation package from a partner hotel of RWM including Marriott Hotel Manila, Hilton Manila, Sheraton Manila Hotel, Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City, Belmont Hotel Manila and Savoy Hotel Manila. The winners work in the frontlines not only from the medical field, but also in public service, media, security, and fashion. Their nominators in turn receive F&B vouchers.

Among the winners are Dr. Oliver Ray Macalinao of the “Brave-5” repatriation team sent to Wuhan, China earlier this year, Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar who created the “Laging Handa” TV program at PTV4 that has been providing information and updates on the COVID-19 pandemic, and security guard Rodolfo B. Medallo who has exemplified true grit and compassion by consistently protecting his post despite difficulties in transportation.
Completing the list are COVID-19 ward nurse Maria Khrizalyn Faye Quintin-Gutierrez, dialysis nurse Ruth Ivy De Leon Reveche, medical surgical unit nurse Me Joy Landero, anesthesiologist Dr. Numeriano M. Samar Jr., DOH nurse Kathleen Mallari, fashion designer and Brgy. Councilor Marbin Garcia, ER Resident Chief Dr. Joe Michael Chu, volunteer transporter Adonis Bigas, and physician Dr. Alec C. Espiritu.
Indeed, a lot can be said about the Filipino spirit in the face of adversity and challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic has inspired a new crop of heroes who stand at the frontlines to serve those in need. RWM is one with the nation in recognition of their compassion and bravery.
