Miss Universe-Philippines Rabiya Mateo has been making headlines this past week post-Miss Universe 2020 competition after being spotted by fans spending time with “Pinoy Big Brother” alum Andre Brouillette in Beverly Hills.
Romance rumors immediately started spreading online following their photo together grabbing lunch. Contributing to these rumors was the fact that Rabiya’s boyfriend of six years, Neil Salvacion, seemingly deleted all his posts of her on his Instagram page, thus fueling speculation of their possible breakup.

As soon as they became the talk of the town online, however, the two denied that there was anything more between them than a platonic friendship.
“Rabiya is Miss Universe Philippines 2020. And we have the same agency, the same team that’s managing her. I was able to meet her as I came to Miami to do hosting for Miss Universe updates,” Andre explained in an exclusive interview with Star Magic’s Inside News last Friday, May 28.
“I can’t control what people think. With that photo, what happened was we picked her up from the airport. We had time and we were all hungry. We went out and had a great lunch in Beverly Hills.”
He then went on to add that he uploaded the photo with Rabiya to show that “it was a great time with friends and a great lunch.”
“Great photo to upload, right? For the memories,” he said. “I try not to read into all that stuff ’cause, of course, everybody is entitled to their own opinion.”
Rabiya, meanwhile, shared Andre’s post in her Instagram Stories, using the hashtags #Friends #Workmates #NoMalice #Empire #Mercator and #ImNotAvailable.
“We’re great friends, and I have the utmost respect for her,” Andre stressed with regards to his friendly relationship with Rabiya. “She’s a great person representing the Philippines. I wish her success in her life.”
