Fans of the auteur have long been worried that his plans to direct only 10 films would derail the continuation of The Bride’s tale, but those fears can now be laid to rest.
In an interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM Radio last December 9, Quentin Tarantino promised that a third Kill Bill film is “definitely in the cards.” He told Cohen that he had recently seen Uma Thurman over dinner and already had ideas for Kill Bill: Volume 3.
“We were at a really cool Japanese restaurant. She was bragging about me, and I was bragging about her. It was a lovely night,” he shared.
Then speaking about the third installment in more detail Tarantino says: “I do have an idea of what I would do. That was the whole thing, conquering that concept…exactly what’s happened to The Bride since [the last film], and what do I want to do [next].”
“Because I wouldn’t want to just come up with some cockamamie adventure. She doesn’t deserve that!” he continues. “The Bride has fought long and hard. Now, I have an idea that actually could be interesting.”
As for when we might expect to finally see The Bride on our screens once more? Tarantino states: “I wouldn’t do it for a little bit, though. It would be like at least three years from now or something like that. But look, it is definitely in the cards.”
