Pinoys Take Survey on Whether PNoy Should Resign or Not

PNoy survey

In the wake of the Mamasapano incident where 44 Special Armed Forces lost their lives in an encounter, survey shows that while the President’s trust rating has plummeted, more Filipinos still don’t want him to resign.

According to local news reports, this was based on a survey conducted by Pulse Asia where overall, 42% of Filipinos say that President Aquino should not resign, compared to 28% percent who said that the President should step down from office. The report also cites that 28% did not have a strong opinion about it, according to the survey.

Additionally, disagreement over President Aquino’s resignation was reportedly strongest in the Balance of Luzon with 47%, followed by Metro Manila with 45%, Mindanao at 39%, and Visayas at 35%.

The reports also say that the survey took place before the investigative reports of the police Board of Inquiry and the Senate on the Mamasapano case were released.

The survey was reportedly held from March 1-7, 2015, and was conducted through face-to-face interviews, sampling about 1,200 representative adults who were 18 years old and above.
