Listen up! Global outdoor brand, Merrell, literally brought music to the streets and to the people. Intramuros, Los Baños, and MRT Cubao station were the venues for Merrell City Busk, a series of live public street performances featuring some of local music’s biggest names—Sponge Cola, Ebe Dancel, Aia De Leon, and more!

All performing artists wore the latest 1SIX8 and AC+ Collection from Merrell, the brand’s urban lifestyle shoes that will have you ready to explore the city 168 hours a week.

Sponge Cola plays Intramuros

Kicking off the first leg was Sponge Cola with crowd favorites such as Jeepney and Tuliro. “We’re playing in the middle of the city with people and it’s kind of cool. It’s more of an intimate gathering where we can play music and we can celebrate being in a nice city and hang out.”

Other artists that day included Brisom, Kai Atienza, and LJ Manzano.

Ebe Dancel takes it acoustically in Los Banos

Ebe Dancel headlined the second leg of the Merrell City Busk in his hometown of Los Banos. “I think it’s a great idea. It’s not your ordinary show where people go to a bar. It’s a strike anywhere kind of show. It’s very spontaneous. Ganon ‘yong experience ko overseas, may mga buskers sa subway or maybe in the streets. I always stop and listen for a while.”

Merrell also featured new artists from Los Baños such as Save Alex Movement, Lea and Lorns, and Jen Rogers.

Aia de Leon plays MRT Cubao

The last leg of the Merrell City Busk was held at one of the busiest stations in the metro with Aia de Leon. “I think it’s my first time to busk ever and I’m really happy that I did it. It’s been a long time since I’ve done something as random as this – this intimate in the afternoon.”

Other artists included Michael Llave, Sax Serenade, and Zsaris.
