From the very beginning of their engagement the couple is said to have envisioned a wedding that perfectly combined both of their cultures and stories. Over the last weekend, they achieved just that. Opting for two ceremonies instead of one the couple was able to ensure that neither of the pair had to make any concessions. It was, after all, the most important day of both their lives.
The wedding weekend kicked off with their Mehendi. This is a traditional pre-wedding ceremony in India which involves the application of henna tattoos.

Following that was the Sangeet, where members from both families put on a show — complete with choreographed musical numbers and full-on costumes.

Then, of course, there was the wedding ceremony itself. Nick Jonas even posted a clip of the ceremony and I swear you can see him wiping a tear away!

In an interview with People Chopra is quoted as saying “I love that our wedding was a religious mash-up. We took beautiful traditions that we both grew up with and personalized them in a way that made sense for us. It’s been incredible to find the commonalities between our beliefs and figuring out how to blend them in a respectful and meaningful way.”
