It all began in 2011 when destiny brought Morissette and Dave Lamar together on the national variety show Fantastik. Little did they know, their meeting would mark the start of an extraordinary love story that has now blossomed into a lifelong partnership. Today, these two incredible talents are not only husband and wife but also the driving force behind the sensational Pop/Singer-Songwriter duo, “From The Sea.”
Dave Lamar, a singer-songwriter, producer, and director, first made waves during the early 2010s through his captivating YouTube channel. Collaborating with renowned artists such as Moira Dela Torre, Keiko Necesario, and Reneé Dominique. Dave built a devoted fanbase with his high-production cover videos.
Morissette, an internationally-recognized singer, songwriter, and producer, has left an indelible mark on the music industry. Known for her chart-topping hits like ‘Akin Ka Na Lang’ and ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw,’ Morissette has accumulated over 100 million streams on major platforms. Her talent has brought her alongside industry legends such as Michael Bolton, Ben Adams of A1, and Rick Price. She has even graced the stage with today’s pop icons like Jessie J, Zara Larsson, and AJ Mitchell, as well as working with Alan Menken & Will Smith for Disney’s Live-Action Aladdin.
In 2021, Dave and Morissette tied the knot. Their union inspired the birth of their musical collaboration, “From The Sea,” taking its name from Dave’s surname La Mar, which translates to “The Sea” in Spanish! So, “From The Sea” is like them saying, “here are songs, From The Lamar’s!”.
The duo made a splash in 2022 with their first EP, which served as the enchanting soundtrack to their wedding. The EP’s carrier single, ‘Luna,’ garnered over 1 million streams, leaving fans eagerly craving more.
