Markus Paterson is going viral on social media after he shared his opinion on love and relationships in a brand-new Youtube video podcast titled “Boys After Dark.”

The video podcast is hosted by Markus and his fellow male Rise Artists Studio artists Anthony Jennings, Jae Miranda, Gello Marquez, and Aljon Mendoza. In their first episode, “Lies, Honesty, & the Truth in Relationship,” the hosts discussed their experiences and unfiltered thoughts on being in relationships. Markus, who had recently separated from his girlfriend Janella Salvador, warned his colleagues in the showbiz industry to not pursue a romance who is also a celebrity.
“Kung may lessons ako sa mga relationships ko (If I learned any lesson from my past relationships), [it’s] never to f***ing date someone in the industry, bro. Wag niyo i-cut ‘yan, seryoso ako diyan (Don’t cut that out, I’m serious),” he said.
Later on, he reiterated: “Sa lahat ng mga manonood na batang artista o gustong mag-artista, ‘wag kayong mag-date ng ibang babaeng artista (To all those watching who are young artists or aspiring artists, don’t date a fellow female celebrity).”
He also shared that he’s learned the importance of being ready before moving on to a new relationship. “If you’re not ready and you move on and you meet some new people and you still have some ties to your past, you have trauma [and] you have pain, that s***’s gonna come back and haunt you. It’s gonna ruin the relationship that you’ve already built. So it’s just about being prepared [and] being honest about yourself.”
Markus and Janella have been rumored to have parted ways since June when fans noticed that they were no longer posting pictures of each other on their social media accounts. Janella further fueled these speculations in August when she told the hosts of “Magandang Buhay” during her guesting that they are both happy “individually” and that their priority is their son, Jude.
On September 4, the “Darna” actress officially confirmed their split in an interview with Bernadette Sembrano, calling herself a “single mom.”
“Si Regina, kapag meron siyang ipinaglalaban, as long as alam niyang nasa tama siya, ilalaban niya talaga. Being a single mom, talagang nilalaban ko iyon. At the end of the day, alam kong kaya ko naman siya (With Regina, when she has something she wants to fight for, as long as she knows she’s right, she will really fight for it. Being a single mom, I really fight for that. At the end of the day, I know that I can do it),” Janella said about her character Regina (aka Valentina) in the television show.
