Love Philippine History? You Can Now Stream “Heneral Rizal” For Free!

Heneral Rizal 01

If you’re a fan of Philippine history, here’s something new to stream: Tanghalang Pilipino’s Heneral Rizal.

The movie is available for streaming on TP’s YouTube channel, or below:

Heneral Rizal is described as, “Heneral Rizal recounts the story of our national hero’s elder brother, Paciano. History books and other references have regarded Paciano as the ever-supportive brother of Jose Rizal; but unbeknownst to many, he was a General who had close relations with both Andres Bonifacio and Emilio Jacinto, coordinating various military operations. His bravery was greatly exhibited when he led the forces that liberated Calamba. In this highly-charged and deeply-emotional monologue, Heneral Rizal chronicles the Philippine revolution in the lens of the noble General.”

The titular character is played by Nanding Josef, with the special participation of Juan Lorenzo Marco.

The film is written by Floro Quibuyen and directed by Chuck Gutierrez.

It is also streaming in this year’s Cinemalaya under the Cinemalaya Retro- Shorts category.
