Â
When In Manila, Lorenzo’s Way is one of the best place to get that superb Filipino-Spanish dining experience. It truly is the place “where taste matters“.Â
Â
Lorenzo’s Way is one of LJC’s roster of finest restaurants that includes Abe, Cafe Adriatico and Ang Bistro sa Remedios. Lorenzo “Larry” J. Cruz, the one who started it all, is a journalist and information man turned restaurateur. With his food ventures from being a journalist and the support of his friends, he opened his first restaurant, Cafe Adriatico in Malate. From then on, his passion grew and his restaurants multiplied.
Â
There is something about Lorenzo’s Way that makes your dining experience extra special. They truly lived up to celebrating the art of living well, always within one’s means and always with consideration for others. Lorenzo’s Way showcases the signature selections from other LJC restaurants and as well as its very own creations. Lorenzo’s way is a tribute to Larry Cruz and his food legacy thru his line of restaurants serving good food and enjoyable dining experience thru the years.

Â
Lorenzo’s Way is introducing their new dishes and their Lorenzo’s Feast Menu that is perfect for group gatherings or celebrations.Â
Â
Off we begin with our Lorenzo’s Way gastronomical journey!
Â
Gambas (Php 320) – Spanish style shrimps sauteed with garlic in olive oil (from Cafe Adriatico)
Â
Beef Salpicao (Php 370) – Tender beef morsels sauteed in garlic and olive oil
Â
Baked Cheesy Spinach and Banana Blossom Dip (Php 235) – Creamy spinach, banana blossom, mushrooms and cheese dip topped with roasted garlic and grated Parmesan cheese
Â
We started our meal with great appetizers and the Gambas became an instant favorite for me. The garlic and foccacia bread sticks was perfect with the Baked Cheesy Spinach and Banana Blossom Dip. We were just on the appetizers and we were already having a delicious start.Â
Â
Heart of Palm with Mango and Shrimps Salad (Php 275) – Crunchy fresh “ubod” julienne with boiled shrimps and ripe mango tossed in vinaigrette
Â
After the very refreshing salad we had, next up – the main course!
Â
King Prawns Creole Hollandaise (Php 595) – Prawns with Creole and hollandaise sauce, served with buttered risoni and vegetables
Â
The King Prawns were really big (at first we thought they were lobsters) and really good, creamy with a little hint of spice from the red and green bell peppers. The risoni and prawns combination is something new to me but surprisingly, it goes very well together.
Â
KKK (Php 595) – short for Kare-Kare Klab, it is oxtail, tripe and vegetables in peanut-flavored gravy (from Bistro Burgos)
Â
No wonder this signature dish from one of the LJC restaurants is included in Lorenzo’s Way menu — it was really good! It reminded me of what Kare-Kare should is, a comfort food made with love by your mother that will take away all the stress from a day’s activity. And this just gave me that impression.
Â
Braised Lamb Shank (Php 1,200) – Tender wine braised lamb shanks with exotic cranberry, honey and saffron sauce
Â
This one’s a real treat for us and we all enjoyed it! The lamb meat was so tender and flavorful.
This is one of their new dishes and is definitely a must try!
Â
Vegetable Au Gratin (Php 255) – a baked medley of garden vegetables bound together with a light cream sauce topped with cheddar cheese
Â
This baked goodness is really creamy, cheesy and really good. So if you’re a vegetables and cheese lover, then this one is for you.
Â
A variety of refreshments for all!
Â
Fruity Tea Frappe (Php 120) and Honey Lemon Cooler (Php 120)
Â
Lorenzo’s Grand Iced Tea (Php 95) and Fresh Apple Juice (Php 145)
Â
Tamarind Shake (Php 135)
Â
And of course, our meal wouldn’t be complete without desserts!
Â
Strawberry Shortcake (Php 195) – Creamy shortcake with fresh ripe strawberries
Â
You can clearly see how fresh those strawberries are! We liked this one because its sweetness is just right.Â
Â
Banana-Chocolate Volcano (Php 175) – Baby Bundt chocolate cake topped with roasted bananas, smothered with chocolate ganache, and served with coffee cream sauce
Â
It was my first time to encounter roasted bananas and chocolate altogether and I should say that the whole ensemble with the coffee cream sauce made it quite a lovely dessert.
Â
Gigil Tart (Php 175) – Fresh coconut meat and preserved egg in a custard tartelette drizzeled with jaggery syrup
Â
And I quote Sir Limson for his description of this dessert, “Gigil tart kasi manggigigil ka sa sarap!” And we couldn’t agree any less. It was like a bibingka and the saltiness from the salted egg, the sweetness of the custard and syrup and the texture from the bits of coconut meat makes it very unique. This is one of the new offerings of Lorenzo’s Way that you shouldn’t miss.
Â
A good establishment is not complete without a good staff. But Lorenzo’s Way has the best! They were the ones responsible for making our Lorenzo’s Way experience exceptional.
Â
With Chef Eduardo de Leon and Sir Limson Castillo, manager of Lorenzo’s Way Greenbelt.
Thank you for giving us a very enjoyable and delicious lunch and a memorable experience at Lorenzo’s Way!
Â
We highly recommend Lorenzo’s Way!Â
