A new edition of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince is going to hit shelves soon, and it’s going to be in Waray.
The translation is titled An Ditoy Nga Prinsipe and is translated by Jerry B. Gracio.
Its cover features papercut art by Mary Anne Mendoza Gacer, with a design by Rustom Pujado.
An Ditoy Nga Prinsipe is published by Savage Mind, a bookstore in Naga which the Philippine Daily Inquirer has said as having the “country’s most exhaustive collection of books in Bikol and on Bicol.”

It has previously published a Hiligaynon translation of The Little Prince. The publisher will also release a Buwînën translation this year, followed by Rinconada and Baybayin.

The Waray translation will be released on February 14, 2024.

The Little Prince
The Little Prince is a novella written and illustrated by de Saint-Exupéry in 1943. It follows a young prince who visits several planets and in the process, examines themes of loneliness, friendship, love, and loss.
It has sold 200 million copies around the world, and has become one of the best-selling books in history.
