The most touching part of the concert was when Kenny Rogers started saying goodbye. He thanked all his fans and everyone in Araneta. He shared how the industry has been very kind to him throughout the decades.

The first question people ask him is often why he is retiring. What will he do next? Kenny shared how he wanted to go home and spend time with his wife and 12-year-old twins.

He then sang You Are So Beautiful while photos of his twins and wife were flashed on the screen. This was the only part of the concert where he looked at the screen instead of the audience. After singing, Kenny Rogers said, “I’m going home.”

He also sang You Can’t Make Old Friends while photos of his friends in the industry were flashed onscreen. It was a very touching way to celebrate the end of an era. And what a blessing it was to be part of that historical celebration.
