On New Year’s Day, Jeremy Renner got into a snow-plowing accident that led to โblunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.โ
He recently shared his first photo since the incident, which shows the actor in the hospital with some bruises on his face.
His caption said, “Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”
His spokesperson also released a statement, saying, “Jeremy is making positive progress and is awake, talking, and in good spirits. He remains in ICU in critical but stable condition. He is overwhelmed by the showing of love and support. The family asks for your continued thoughts while he heals with his close loved ones.”
New Year’s Day accident
According to his publicist Samantha Mast, the actor was moving snow from driveways near his home in Nevada.
Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam, who spoke during a press conference, said, “Mr. Renner went to retrieve his PistenBully, or snowcat โ an extremely large piece of snow-removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds โ in an effort to get his vehicle moving. After successfully towing his personal vehicle from its stuck location, Mr. Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak to his family member.”
He added, “At this point, it is observed that the PistenBully started to roll. In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr. Renner attempts to get back into the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it’s at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the PistenBully.”
The actor had two surgeries after being hospitalized in critical condition.
