Joan Urminita, a single mother residing in Cainta, Rizal, has shared her story with us and that ofย herย 1-year-old son who was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare, life-threatening liver disease. The only way to save his life from this terrible disease is for him to undergo a liver transplant operation that has an estimated cost of Php4ย million. Without the operation, babies with biliary atresia are less likely to live beyond age two.
Forย the funds for the operation, Joan shares that they still have a long way to go. As such, theyย are trying to seek help through our website andย throughย different organizations to help us raise awareness on this condition.
Every little bit will help.
