Joan Urminita, a single mother residing in Cainta, Rizal, has shared her story with us and that of her 1-year-old son who was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare, life-threatening liver disease. The only way to save his life from this terrible disease is for him to undergo a liver transplant operation that has an estimated cost of Php4 million. Without the operation, babies with biliary atresia are less likely to live beyond age two.
For the funds for the operation, Joan shares that they still have a long way to go. As such, they are trying to seek help through our website and through different organizations to help us raise awareness on this condition.
Every little bit will help.
Hope for Johann
