Highway Stop Over at Rekados Tagaytay: Amazing Comfort Food & Ambiance

I asked what they were known for and they immediately said “Paella” and they were not kidding. The people of Rekados are very serious about their Paella.

Paella Negra, A valencian + Catalan dish Filipinos adopted. A rice dish infused with squid ink, rich tomato sauce and topped with seafoods with special Aioli sauce– My favorite dish in Rekados’ menu, if you like Paella Valenciana, you will love Paella Negra. It’s black because of the squid ink that was cooked into the rice. You can’t really see it but it has A LOT of squid and the cream on top was the best part of all. Best Paella Negra I’ve tried. You can’t leave Rekados without trying this. I am still raving about it!

Beef Salpicao, Diced beef tenderloin sauted in lots of garlic, butter and olive oil.

After having a beautiful feast, finish it off with a beautiful dessert. I highly recommend you try the “Secreto ni Daniel” (Daniel’s Secret):

Is it ice cream? Is it a cake? Is it more of something that originated from the streets of manila or inside a 5 star kitchen with the best chefs? No one is really sure. All we know is that is an amazing dish that everyone should enjoy. Secreto Ni Daniel (Daniel’s Secret) is a must try on the menu

So if you’re planning to go to Tagaytay, don’t forget to add Rekados to your plans. It’s a stop along the highway that you will not regret. Even if you’re just craving for authentic Filipino-Spanish food with a beautiful ambiance, try Rekados, When In Manila (somewhat :P)
