The bush fires blazing across Australia have been heartbreaking. People have lost their homes, animals have lost their habitats, and the fires keep raging on.
It’s hard to be able to feel like we’re much help from where we are in Manila but that doesn’t mean all hope is lost! If your kind heart would like to help out our friends over in Australia, here are a few ways you can.
- Australia’s Red Cross has people at volunteer centers helping out with recovery
- The Rural Fire Service in New South Wales helps out the firefighters over at NSW
- The Salvation Army has been providing support and shelter for volunteers
- The Country Fire Authority in Victoria directly aids affected communities
- For firefighters in more rural areas like Queensland, you can donate to Rural Fire Brigades Association in Queensland
- If you want to aid the affected wildlife and animals, you can donate to WIRES
- To help provide food and water to firefighters and those who are stranded, go to FoodBank Victoria
- If you want to help thirsty koalas who have been affected by the fires, you can donate to The Port Macquarie Koala Hospital
- Kangaroo Island has suffered from these fires and would appreciate donations to help care for their injured wildlife
If you know any more ways to help out, feel free to share.
