Carolina “Kay” Gozon Jimenez, known affectionately as the “Bamboo Queen” and Science Diplomat Glenn Banaguas, a world-renowned and multi-awarded scientist, stand together at the intersection of nature’s grace and human purpose.

Carolina “Kay” Gozon Jimenez, a remarkable entrepreneur, environmentalist, and humanitarian, has woven her legacy into the very fabric of our world. Her journey is a symphony of faith, resilience, and a deep connection to nature. As a young girl, Kay was captivated by the elegance of bamboo, the way its leaves rustled in the wind, casting delicate shadows like lace. Her fascination grew into a lifelong passion. In 2000, she planted the seeds of her vision in the Carolina Bamboo Garden (CBG), a living sanctuary in Antipolo. Within its five hectares, around 50 bamboo species thrive, showcasing their versatility and strength. Kay’s 100% bamboo house stood, a testament to sustainable living. Its walls, woven by skilled hands, breathed with the forest’s pulse. She taught visitors the language of bamboo, the art of bending without breaking, of resilience in the face of storms.
“Bamboo’s journey from forest to factory relies on partnerships and collaboration. By working together, we can harness its full potential for socioeconomic growth, environmental conservation, and a greener future. Every bamboo shoot represents a shared commitment to a sustainable world. Let’s collaborate and cultivate change,” the Bamboo Queen uttered.
“Stakeholders, like the nodes of a bamboo stalk, vary in shape and purpose. Some are policymakers, shaping the landscape of our shared destiny. Others are community leaders, bridging gaps and fostering collaboration. And there are those silent advocates, the everyday citizens, who, when united, create a powerful chorus for transformation,” Jimenez added.
