The show aired earlier this year with Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado as the lead stars to put a Filipino twist on the love story between an army man and a hospital surgeon who both face danger in a war-torn country.

It is currently up against Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer and mini-series The New Pope starring Jude Law under the same category.

Other than GMA Network’s Descendants of the Sun, ABS-CBN Network’s Sino Ang May Sala?: Mea Culpa had also been nominated under Best Serial Drama while its lead actress Bela Padilla is in the running for the Best Actress award.

The 15th Seoul International Drama Awards will live-stream its awarding ceremony on September 15.
