ENTERTAINMENT: Upcoming live action Pokémon movie now has official title

There is a Pokémon live action film that is in the works.

It has been announced before but its official title has just been revealed at the Pokémon World Championships in Tennessee.

According to Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara and director Rob Letterman, the movie will be called Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, which is based on the video game of the same name.

Pikachu will be voiced by Ryan Reynolds. Pikachu is one of the most popular Pokémons. Unlike other Pokémons in the game, Pikachu can speak like a human being and say more than just “pika-chu.” It is not yet confirmed if Pikachu will speak the same way in the movie as in the game.

Ken Watanabe, Justice Smith, and Kathryn Newton are also in the movie.

Are you excited to see the live action version of Pokémon once it hits the theater?
