As a special treat for employees, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that it will give free rides for all workers on Labor Day, which is celebrated on May 1.
GOOD NEWS: In celebration of the 116th Labor Day, DOTr MRT-3 will offer FREE RIDES to ALL PUBLIC AND PRIVATE WORKERS on May 1, 2018, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am, and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. #DOTrPH ??#DOTrMRT3 #SulongMRT3 pic.twitter.com/tDu1C9ocn6

The free train rides are available from 7AM to 9AM and 5PM to 7PM, which are the times when most employees go to their offices and homes. To avail, they must simply present their company IDs at any station.
This piece of good news comes at a time when the MRT is improving its services. On April 5, the DOTr said that 16 trains were operating, compared to 15 trains earlier in the week. In February, as little as six trains were operating on any given day.
The MRT service began to improve in March when spare parts were delivered mid-February.
