JJC Quezon City, a non-profit youth organization and a special affiliate of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) – Philippines at Quezon City, has always endeavored to make advocacy-driven programs and events that impassion Filipino youth in community involvement and youth empowerment so they can create positive change. For this year, JJC Quezon City, staying true to its mission, responds to the need to empower the youth about their significant role in the coming 2022 Philippine Elections.
As the organization’s flagship project, JJC Quezon City Summit 2021 entitled, “ELEKSYON ‘22-HANAN: The Power of Truth and Youth This Election Season,” is a one-day event where esteemed speakers from reputable institutions will talk about various relevant subjects related to voting.
With Atty. Maria Sol G. Taule, Legal Counsel of the Karapatan Alliance Philippines and Member of the National Union of People’s Lawyers, will discuss the Right to Vote and why there is a need to exercise this right and participate in the electoral process of the Philippines.
Ms. Celine Isabelle B. Samson, Head of the Online Verification Team of VERA Files, will share tips and techniques on how to combat mis- and disinformation that has become rampant in this digital age for voters to be critical and responsible with the information they gather and share on the internet so they may be able, and even help others, make an informed choice for the future.
And, finally, with Hon. Sarah Jane I. Elago, Representative of the Kabataan Party-list in the House of Representatives of the Philippines, Board of Trustees of the Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population and Development, and Member of the ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights, will tackle why the youth has a significant role in the coming elections.
