The 2000’s were a different time for Kim Kardashian — the reality star and beauty mogul played second fiddle to the It Girl of the time, Paris Hilton; and before meeting her husband Kanye, she enjoyed the attention of other rappers in the industry, including Bow Wow!
Bow Wow, real name Shad Moss, revealed that he dated Kim Kardashian a while ago, but kept their relationship on the down low because he was afraid of how his fans would react to him dating a non-black woman.
The rapper was featured on the Hollywood Unlocked podcast, where he claimed that he first met Kim when she was still Paris’ assistant.
According to Bow Wow:
“Somehow we got each other’s information. We [were] cool, we remained friends. And this was right before (she dated American footballer) Reggie Bush. The reason nobody knew is because of how I move.”
The 30-year-old rapper-actor also shared that he and Kim saw each other frequently, but kept their romance discreet over worries that his fans would not react well to a rapper dating a woman who wasn’t black.
“I’m just so nervous because I never really dated outside my race before, this is different for a n**ga. I don’t know how my fans going to look at it (sic)… so I kept that s**t low and nobody really knew.”
