Blue Case Competiton 2019: Magnus Opus

Blue Consulting Group (BCG) is the premier management consulting organization in the Ateneo de Manila University. It is a student run non-profit organization that seeks to empower small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups, to create sustainable and impactful values for the Filipino people. Ateneo Blue Consulting group aims to provide competent and passionate management consultants for small businesses through non-profit consulting engagements that are rooted on utilizing strategic management principles and directed towards fostering growth, development, and learning. It specializes in services catered towards Marketing, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, and Sustainability. These are provided through in-depth research, performing analysis using several known frameworks, and delivering actionable recommendations to clients. These are done with the ultimate goal of addressing issues and improving the businesses at hand.

As the flagship project of the Ateneo Blue Consulting Group (BCG), the Blue Case Competition (BCC) is a one-day case competition open to all of undergraduate students in Luzon. Designed to challenge participants on different aspects of a business case and the company’s business structure, BCC will feature three stages that build up to an overarching case revolving around one major company. The partner company for the case competition is SGV & Co. Philippines, which is the country’s leading firm for multidisciplinary professional services, ranking #1 in audit services and tax services. Through this case competition, companies will be provided with a closer look at the individuality and work ethic of each participant, while guiding them when developing innovative solutions for an overall more substantial output. 

 

By joining Blue Case Competition (BCC), it will give the participants a chance to put their theoretical skills into practice, gain exposure to real-world situations in the business industry, and acquire networking opportunities. It aims to hone the strategic skill set of the participants by encouraging them to come up with sustainable innovative solutions to real-world business problems. In addition to this, participants have the opportunity of winning a grand prize of Php 50,000 and the chance to be screened by SGV & Co. for internship opportunities for the Top 3 teams of this competition. 

Before the event proper, the Ateneo Blue Consulting Group will host an Innovation Bootcamp on November 4, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, which will be held inside the Ateneo de Manila University, for the introduction of the case study and the partner company from the respective company representatives. Afterwards, on November 9, 2019, Blue Case Competition event proper will formally commence from 8:00am to 7:00pm, once again held in Ateneo de Manila University, where the teams will battle it out over the course of three stages and present their ultimate output of the case studies to the company representatives of SGV & Co. Philippines.
