It was a day that’s bright like no other, the beginnings of summer only starting to peek through, casting shadows against tall greenery. I first met Tricia Gotamco and Erin Chu on such a day, two young entrepreneurs with a vision and an unwavering passion. It is armed with these qualities that the brand Made for Movement was born.
“Our vision for Made for Movement is to give Filipinos quality and affordable yoga props, accessories, and clothes for their practice,” explains Tricia. Having finished her yoga teacher training in India last 2010, Tricia partnered up with long-time friend Erin, who was then working at a bank. Together, they devoted their energy into the brand full-time.
Made for Movement centers around a two-part lifestyle: yoga and travel. “We’d like to make our mark in the yoga industry as the first Filipino brand to come up with world class products for yoga,” explains Tricia. “For the travel part, we’d like to make cool travel items that will really make it easier for people to travel.”
With their products found at various yoga studios around the Metro, Made for Movement indeed has gone far. That’s because the pair makes an uncompromising promise of only the best quality, tried and tested by their own extensive practice. After releasing a variety of mats and materials, they certainly know what they’re talking about. “You don’t have to go through five mats just to realize that you’ll have to spend decent money to find a really good one,” says Tricia. “We want to eliminate the waste part and instead just offer products that are worth every peso.”
Aside from yoga mats and props, they also offer travel and beach sets that are a must-have for every wanderlust traveler.
