The trailer for Makoto Shinkai’s newest work has finally dropped!
In case you missed it, the award-winning director of “Kimi no Na wa (Your Name)” is working on a new film that’s set to be released this year which will take us all in a journey to another ethereal world through his emotionally gripping storytelling. Titled “Suzume no Tojimari (Suzume Locking Up the Doors),” this new movie follows a 17-year-old girl who lives in a quiet town where she meets and helps a mysterious man looking for a “door.” When she does find it, she gets sucked in, and “Doors to Disaster” begin to appear all across Japan that eventually cause a series of unfortunate incidents. She thus embarks on a mission to find each door and lock it up.
Although it’s just a teaser trailer, we already get to meet the titular heroine Suzume and see her in action as she tries to fend off the dangers being released by these magical doors. And just as we would expect from Director Shinkai, the film is already looking so beautiful and it’s guaranteed that this will be what audiences around the world will be talking about by the end of the year.
