If you think you or someone you know has a ton of Studio Ghibli paraphernalia at home, wait ’til you see just how huge this person’s collection is.
Eloïse Jéglot, a makeup artist and tattoo model based in France, has just been crowned the Guinness World Record holder for the largest Studio Ghibli collection that would put any Ghibli fan to shame. Amounting to a whopping 1,304 items (which has grown to 1,496 since receiving her award last October 2021), her collection consists of figurines, soundtrack albums, DVDs, books, plushies, pins, keychains, mugs, music boxes, and so many more.

Guinness World Records recently published a video touring around Eloïse’s “Ghibli Room” where she stores her memorabilia and it really did feel like walking into a tiny museum that was put up in honor of Hayao Miyazaki’s greatest works. Eloïse shared that she fell in love with the world of Ghibli after having seen “Princess Mononoke” when she was 6-years-old and even admitted to watching “My Neighbor Totoro” almost every day for years. Among the hundreds of items that were in the room, Eloïse pointed out 10 she loved the most in her collection—the ones that she said have meant a lot to her since the beginning.
Some of them were a statue of Jiji the cat from “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” a limited-edition hopping lantern from “Spirited Away’s” 20th Anniversary event, vintage “Ponyo” music boxes, a signed CD by the French composer of “The Secret World of Arrietty,” replicas of items from “Whisper of the Heart,” and the most expensive item: a replica statue of the catbus from “Totoro!”

Eloïse said that she will never stop collection as it is her “passion” and her “life,” and her main goal moving forward is to keep growing her Studio Ghibli collection in order to keep her Guinness World Record title!
