LOOK: Here’s a Sneak Peek at the ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ Set

Production and filming for the upcoming Philippine live-action adaptation of the beloved Japanese franchise “Voltes V” are underway and we’ve got our first sneak peek at the set of the show!

Voltes V

GMA Network and Voltes V’s official Instagram pages shared some exclusive photos taken of the set, which was revealed to be the Boazanian Skull Ship command center. To those who are unfamiliar with the original Japanese anime, the Skull Ship is the flagship mechanical ship of the Boazanian Earth Invasion force led by antagonist Prince Zardoz — the half-brother of the Voltes V heroes, Steve, Big Bert, and Little John. The command center is located in the skull ship’s castle.

“Get ready to volt in!” the page wrote.

Director Mark Reyes likewise shared the same photo and shared that they were testing the lights of the set.

It was last December 2019 when Director Mark, known for his works “Encantadia,” “Moments of Love,” and several other variety shows on GMA Network, announced to fans and followers that the show is a go through a short teaser clip he posted on his Instagram.

“After 5 years,” Mark wrote on the caption at the time, together with the hashtags “finally,” “dream project,” and “here we go.”

It was also revealed at the time that the Filipino remake is “licensed by Japan’s own Toei Company, Ltd. through its Philippine-licensor Telesuccess Productions, Inc.”

A year later, a new teaser trailer has dropped, once again fueling excitement among fans. Check it out below!

The remake will star Miguel Tanfelix, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho, and Ysabel Ortega as the Voltes V team. Martin del Rosario will portray Prince Zardoz, while Liezel Lopez, Epi Quizon, and Carlo Gonzales will portray Zandra, Prince Zardoz’ aide and unrequited lover, Zuhl, a scientist, and Draco, the general loyal, respectively. Meanwhile, Gabby Eigenmann will take on the role of Commander Robinson, head of the Earth Defense Force, and Neil Ryan Sese will be Dr. Hook, a scientist working for the Earth Defense Force.
