As the 2022 elections draw near, Senator Bongbong Marcos’ camp had confirmed that he will be running in the 2022 national elections.
According to Atty. Vic Rodriguez in an interview with ANC, the Senator is gearing towards running a post in the national elections. “He will be definitely running for 2022,” Rodriguez said. Though he didn’t disclose what the position will be he shared that they will be making an announcement once they are ready.

The Supreme Court dismissed the election protest filed by Senator Marcos against Vice-President Leni Robredo for the 2016 Vice-Presidential Race due to lack of merit. Though the protest has been filed in June 2016, the court only dismissed the case in February 2021, or five years after it was filed. According to Supreme Court spokesperson Brian Hosaka, the court had unanimously voted to junk the protest.
On the official Facebook page of Senator Marcos, they posted about the decision, “However, as to the issue on how to proceed with our third cause of action, which is the annulment of votes in Mindanao, the Tribunal has yet to decide on the matter”, the post said.
