Actress Alessandra De Rossi has come to the defense of her friend and costar Piolo Pascual after his name was dragged into the issue of the rejected filming request in Sagada Province for the upcoming State of the Nation Address by President Duterte.

Yesterday, it was reported that the shooting permit filed by Director Joyce Bernal and Piolo was denied by the Sagada council due to the city’s strict quarantine measures. However, Alessandra affirmed that Piolo wasn’t there to assist the SONA shoot but to actually film something else.
“He has a bigger project. Not related to politics, but to show the beauty of the Philippines. Sayang. (Such a waste.) But time will come pag pwede na i-shoot yun. Nakakapagshooting na nga yung iba eh! Ito, bundok lang kukunan nya. (But time will come when they’ll be able to shoot it. The others have already started shooting, actually! Here, he was just going to film the mountains),” she said on Twitter.
“Let them clarify that. It’s not my story to tell. But def, walang kinalaman si Piolo sa sona at all. Ano gagawin nya doon? Magmomodel? (But definitely, Piolo has nothing to do with the SONA at all. What is he going to do there? Model?)” she added.

Piolo has yet to come forward with his own statement regarding the incident.
