PLDT hackers call for ‘fast internet,’ warns another telco

Hackers attacked PLDT’s Twitter account on Thursday, calling for faster internet connection especially not that the country is combatting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aside from posting a tweet, the account’s name @PLDT_Cares was also changed to “PLDT Doesn’t Care.

In a separate tweet, the hacker group published a warning for Globe Telecoms, saying that it will be next.

During the community quarantine, PLDT earlier gave its Fiber subscribers a free speed boost that ended on April 30, 2020.

The National Capital Region (NCR) and other “high-risk” areas were on lockdown since March 17. A modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) has been placed from May 15 to last until May 31.

A general community quarantine (GCQ) is expected to be implemented in Metro Manila by June 1.
