Prequel to This Internationally Acclaimed Pinoy Horror Film is Officially In the Works

Filmmaker Mikhail Red has revealed on April 15, Wednesday, that a prequel to his hit horror movie Eerie is officially in the works!

It was during Cinema ’76’s online fundraiser “#KwentuhanLang” for the benefit of film industry workers who’ve lost their livelihood amid the Luzon-wide lockdown when the acclaimed director dropped the news. He shared that he and his team have been hard at work to flesh out the details of the upcoming prequel.

His cousin, Rae Red, will return as one of the screenwriters along with Hyro Aguinaldo.

Eerie has earned international recognition after it was released on online streaming platform Netflix. It was described as a film “so terrifying that you’ll want to keep your lights on,” by various international news sites including ElleThe IndependentBuzzfeed, and The Sun. The film stars Bea Alonzo as a clairvoyant guidance counselor who attempts to solve the mystery of a student’s death.
