There Are Now Over 780,000 COVID-19 Cases Globally

According to The John Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE), the number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases around the world has risen above 780,000.

The John Hopkins CSSE live global updates cites the total confirmed cases at 786,228 with 37,820 total deaths and 166,041 recoveries as of March 31, 12:46 p.m.

The United States tops the tally as the country with the largest number of COVID-19 cases with 164,603. Italy follows with 101,739 cases then Spain with 87,956 cases and China with 82,240 cases. Germany rounds out the top 5 countries with 66,885 cases.

Majority of the deaths caused by COVID-19 come from Italy, with 11,591 deaths recorded in the country. Spain follows with 7,716 deaths then Hubei, China with 3,187 deaths.

COVID-19 has now been reported on every continent except Antarctica.
