Veteran actor Eddie Garcia sadly passed away last June 20, 2019. He had been in critical condition for almost 2 weeks after suffering an accident while on set for a GMA-7 series. Throughout the ordeal, the general public had offered their thoughts and prayers as a gesture of solidarity.

Lilibeth Romero, Eddie Garcia ‘s long-time partner, thanked the public for everything in a statement made to ABS-CBN News‘ Mario Dumaual: “I am grateful to everyone who offered prayers and supported us throughout this time. You gave us strength.” She also made mention of Garcia’s strength in the last few days: “For 12 days I did not leave him; maybe he did not really want to go because he wanted another take!”

Garcia was a man who truly and genuinely cared for his craft, honing it until the very end. He spent nearly 70 years in show business and showed no signs of stopping just yet. Eddie Garcia’s wake is now open to the public should they wish to pay their respects. The public viewing of his ashes is in Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City until Sunday.
