It’s Time to Look Dapper with the Emergence Suit Collection by AJ Dee and Tiño

In a collaboration between The Filo Dapper and Tiño, Emergence was born. The collection features autumn/winter ready-to-wear suits, jackets, vests, and trousers. The launch was held on October 21 at the Greenbelt 5 Gallery.

The Filo Dapper is a classic men’s wear enthusiast blog run by former celebrity AJ Dee, whereas Tiño offers world-class bespoke tailoring spearheaded by Italian-trained Napoleon Arienza. Now based in Norway, Dee has turned into a fashion influencer who has garnered almost 70,000 followers on Instagram.

The collaboration was made in an attempt to bring back classic, bespoke suits back into the scene. Focusing on the craftsmanship and wearability of a suit, AJ Dee found it apt to partner with Tiño: “I’ve seen Tiño’s work—the craftsmanship is there. Their suits are the same as the Italian’s because their master tailor is trained by an Italian and works in Italy. I saw a good partnership between me and Tiño.”

 

The concept in mind for Emergence was to cater to the Filipino men of differing professions and lifestyles, all the while celebrating the looks of permanence and elegance. Here are some of the looks from the Emergence collection:

“For normal men, they see suits as something too much—overdressed and too hot for our climate. I specially picked the right fabrics for our climate, the right colors with what is perfect for a specific profession. I chose a lot of blues and greys because those are the staple colors when it comes to business suits and looks,” Dee said. For those who opt for something a little more dressed down, sports jackets may be the way to go.

On the title Emergence, Dee talked about ideas as a turning point: “It’s called “Emergence” because a lot of people have brilliant ideas. But because they lack the tools and resources, it never really progressed. No matter how good it is, it will only remain as an idea. I saw the potential in our partnership and we believe in each other. From there, we have Emergence.”
