The action-thriller movie “Buy Bust” is directed by Erik Matti and stars the “Princess of All Media” Anne Curtis along with Brandon Vera, Victor Neri, Arjo Atayde, Aj Muhlach, Mara Lopez, Nonie Buencamino, Lao Rodriguez, Alex Calleja, Sheenly Gener, among others. Two years in the making, the movie will finally be shown in Philippine cinemas on August 1, 2018.
Last week, I went to the advanced screening of ‘Buy Bust’ at UP Cine Adarna, and here are some reasons why I think you should watch it, too.
5 Reasons Why You Need to Watch the Promising Action Film “Buy Bust”
5. To find out what’s inside “Barangay Grasya ni Maria”
In ‘Buy Bust’, this place is where it all happens. If you have seen the trailer, this is the slums area where the squad of Anne Curtis’ character, Nina Manigan, will have their buy-bust operation. This place looks like a typical squatters area, but you have to watch the movie to find out more about what’s inside.
4. To realize the movie is not about raids
One question that was answered at the forum is whether the film was about raids. Director Erik Matti stresses that this movie is definitely not just about raids like most people seem to think.
3. To witness the superb acting and fighting skills of the casts
Watch out as you will see an Anne Curtis you’ve never seen before. According to Director Erik Matti, one scene in the movie was very hard to shoot. They basically had to put sandpaper all over the area and on Anne Curtis shoes just to perfectly execute the scene.
Also, watch out for Brandon Vera’s character Rico Yatco. We all know him as an MMA Fighter, but aside from being amazed by his strength and fighting ability, you will also be amazed by his Filipino skills. The entire did a great job at giving their characters’ justice.
2. To see more of Arjo Atayde’s role
We’ve witnessed Arjo Atayde’s great acting skills in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and “Hanggang Saan”, but watch out for Arjo Atayde’s surprise role on Buy Bust. This was one of the best surprises for me.
1. To see a great ending
As mentioned by Director Erik Matti, there are lots of choices on how the movie could end, so watch out for the ending scene; it will leave you in awe. For me, the ending fit perfectly well rather compared to the alternate endings mentioned in the forum.
P.S: The movie is mind-blowing and heart-stopping, so don’t forget to take a breath and to bring water because the intensity of the scenes might tire you out – like you’re on a 4D ride (that’s how intense it is!).
I felt a few realizations after watching the film and I still can’t get over it. I’m definitely willing to watch the film over and over again. It was so worth it!
