At 61 Years Old, Anthony Bourdain Is Fitter Than Most Of Us

Anthony Bourdain eats food for a living. Every so often he hops on a plane, jets off to a far-off country and samples the local delicacies and drinks, and gets paid for it.

It’s the occupational hazard of food hosts — imagine traveling to different locations over a week, shooting several restaurants and having to try various dishes. It seems like a charmed life, but it would really put a toll on your waistline and health. Plus, it’s no secret that metabolism does slow when you age.

Yet when Anthony stepped out with girlfriend Asia Argento in Italy for her birthday, that wouldn’t seem like the case at all. In fact, Tony looks impressively ripped, even for his age. At the risk of sounding cheesy, we just have to ask: What is the Parts Unknown star’s secret?

According to Bourdain, the answer is simple: he engages in jiu-jitsu, a combat sport that works on core strength, flexibility, and endurance.

The travel host even added that he never misses a day of training, even while traveling.

If this won’t inspire you to take up a sport, I don’t know what else will.
