TEACHING YOUR KIDS ABOUT THAT ALL-IMPORTANT NEST EGG THIS EASTER

How old were you when you first started saving up for the future? This Easter Sunday, April 16th, a fresh batch of Kiddo-preneurs (ages 5-17) will set up their own businesses at the bustling Trinoma Mall Activity Center for another installment of Kiddo-preneur.

Five years in the running now, Kiddo-preneur is a wildly successful social organization set up by ABS-CBN business news anchor Maiki Oreta and her young daughter Brielle. Their goal is to get the Filipino youth interested in business and entrepreneurship. And what better way to expose them to this, then to let them try it out for themselves in a safe and conducive mall environment.

How it Works

Aspiring participants fill up the application form and kid friendly business plan and the ones with the best ideas/business concepts get to avail of a booth. In that booth, the kids get to set up shop, test out their math skills and business ideas, they get to interact with customers, and most of all – they get to earn their own money!

In a past event, a group of kids selling boxes of homemade cookies worth P100/each was able to make a gross profit of P120,000 in a day.

Maiki Oreta says, “If you have a great product or service, the possibilities are endless and the money earned can be very rewarding and encouraging for the kids.”

So, this Easter, rather than hunting for Easter eggs, it might be wise to get the kids you love interested in saving up for their own, all-important nest egg!
