PSA: New Coding Scheme Extends to ‘No-Window’ Policy to 8PM

advantages of traffic

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has released another revised coding scheme that contains two updates.

First, it included the new coverage of no-window policy that now also covers radial and circumferential roads. This is set for implementation on November 1. Previously, the no-window policy was just implemented on EDSA, C5, Alabang-Zapote Road, Roxas Boulevard, Las Pinas and Mandaluyong City. With this update, the following areas will also have no-window policy:

  • CM Recto Avenue
  • Ortigas Avenue
  • Quirino Avenue
  • Araneta Avenue
  • CP Garcia Avenue
  • Bulacan-Rizal-Manila-Cavite Regional Expressway
  • Taft Avenue
  • SLEX
  • Shaw Boulevard
  • Magsaysay Boulevard/Aurora Boulevard
  • Quezon Avenue/Commonwealth Avenue
  • A. Bonifacio Avenue
  • Rizal Avenue
  • Del Pan/Marcos Highway/MacArthur Highway

The other update states extension of coding hours up to 8PM.

With these updates, going out on your coding day is trickier and more challenging especially if you used to pass through any of these roads and will now need to look for other options.

These updates will be implemented until January 31, 2017.

We’ll just have to wait and see how this will affect Metro Manila traffic, whether it will significantly improve it in general. If yes, there is a chance that these updates will be implemented beyond the set deadline.

What do you think of these coding updates?
